The Belmont Wetlands State Park Photo Competition is an opportunity for nature lovers, amateur and professional photographers to showcase the incredible beauty and diversity of our Park and help tell the story of our important natural places and cultural heritage.
The Belmont Wetlands State Park Photo Competition is an opportunity for nature lovers, amateur and professional photographers to showcase the incredible beauty and diversity of our Park and help tell the story of our important natural places and cultural heritage.
COMPETITION CATEGORIES
This competition will feature three categories:
1. Landscapes – Capturing the natural beauty of the park's environment.
2. Flora and Fauna – Highlighting native plants and wildlife within the park.
3. Enjoying Nature – Showcasing people engaging with and enjoying the natural surroundings (surfing, fishing etc)
Each category will have three award levels:
1. Kids (under 12 yrs) Photographers
2. Youth (12 – 18 yrs) Photographers
3. Open Photographers.
So, there will be 9 award winners in total!

WHAT DO YOU WIN?
Awards will be given to entries deemed the winners by judges from the Lake Macquarie Camera Club and announced by 20 July 2025. The prizes are bragging rights for being a photographic genius.
ENTRY DATES
Entries open from 1st March 2025 to 30 June 2025.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Photos will be judged on the extent that they:
- showcase the specific entry category with originality and visual appeal.
- highlight the beauty and diversity of our parks and wildlife.
- encourage people to be in and enjoy nature.
- promote awareness and inspire support for conservation.
TOPLINE RULES
- All photo entries must have been taken in the 12 months prior to the competition closing date.
- All photos must be taken on Belmont Wetland State Park land.
- Photographs should avoid showing people whose faces are recognisable, unless suitable model release documentation is provided for every person included.
- Photo entries may be featured on Belmont Wetlands State Park website and other Park online and offline promotional methods such as social media accounts, Google Business Listing, brochures.
